    ١٩٢ - أحمد بن عبد اللَّه بن يونس التميمي قال أبو داود: قلت لأحمد: النفيلي أحب إليك في حديث زهير، أو أحمد بن يونس؟ قال: النفيلي صاحب حديث كيس، وأحمد بن يونس رجل صالح. "سؤالات أبى داود" (٣١٨). قال الفضل بن زياد: وسمعت أبا عبد اللَّه، وقيل له: من بالكوفة ممن يكتب عنه، فقال: شيخهم اليوم ابن يونس. يعني: أحمد بن يونس. "المعرفة والتاريخ" ٢/ ١٧٩ - ١٨٠.قال الفضل بن زياد: سمعت أحمد بن حنبل، وقال له رجل: عَمن أكتب، فقال: أخرج إلى أحمد بن يونس، فإنه شيخ الإسلام. "المعرفة والتاريخ" ٢/ ١٨٠، "سير أعلام النبلاء" ١٠/ ٤٥٧، "تذكرة الحفاظ" ١/ ٤٠١، "بحر الدم" (٣).
