الحطة في ذكر الصحاح الستة" للقنوجي. ينقسم إلى خمسة أبواب، الأول في معرفة علم الحديث ومبدأ جمعه وتدوينه، والثاني في فروع علم الحديث والكتب المصنفة فيها، والثالث في طبقات كتب الحديث وأنواع ضبطه وتحمله، والرابع في ذكر الأمهات الست وشروحها، والخامس في تراجم أصحاب الكتب الست، والإمام مالك، وأحمد. فترجم للإمام أحمد في الفصل الثامن من الباب الخامس (ص ٤٦٢ - ٤٧٠)، فذكر نسبه ونشأته، ورحلاته في طلب الحديث، وبعض من سمع منهم، وبعض ما روي في مناقبه، ثم تحدث عن المحنة باختصار، ثم ذكر الأصول التي بنى عليها فتواه، وأهم مصنفاته. - "
