الكاشف في معرفة من له رواية في الكتب الستة" للذهبي. وهو مختصر من "تهذيب الكمال"، اقتصر فيه على من له رواية في الكتب الستة فقط. وطريقته في الترجمة، أن يذكر اسم الراوي، وبعض شيوخه، وبعض تلاميذه، ودرجته من حيث الجرح والتعديل، وسنة وفاته، ثم يرمز لمن أخرج له من أصحاب الكتب الستة. وعلى هذا النهج ترجم للإمام أحمد (١/ ٢٠٢)، وقال: وترجمته في مجلد. - "
