    جمهرة أنساب العرب" لابن حزم (ت ٤٥٦ هـ). قال ابن حزم عن منهجه في الكتاب (ص ٦): فجمعنا في كتابنا هذا تواشج أرحام قبائل الغرب، وتفر بعضها من بعض، وذكرنا من أعيان كل قبيلة مقدارًا يكون من وقف عليه خارجًا من الجهل بالأنساب. . اهـ. وترجم للإمام أحمد (ص ٣١٩) في بني شيبان بن ذهل بن ثعلبة بن عكابة ابن صعب. قال: الفقيه الجليل أبو عبد اللَّه أحمد بن محمد بن حنبل بن هلال بن أسد بن إدريس بن عبد اللَّه بن حيان بن عبد اللَّه بن أنس بن عوف بن قاسط بن مازن بن شيبان ابن ذهل بن ثعلبة. وابناه: عبد اللَّه، قاضي حمص. وصالح، قاضي الثغر. وابن ابنه: زهير بن صالح، محدث. وابن أخيه: محمد بن أحمد بن صالح، محدث. اهـ. - "
