٣٧ - محمد بن محمد بن إدريس الشافعي (ت ٢٤٠ هـ) أبو عثمان القاضي، ابن الإمام محمد بن إدريس بن العباس بن عثمان بن شافع ابن هاشم بن المطلب بن عبد مناف بن قصي، وهو أكبر أولاد الشافعي. سمع أباه، وسفيان بن عيينة، وعبد الرزاق. قال له الإمام أحمد: إني لأحبك لثلاث خلال: أنك ابن أبي عبد اللَّه، وأنك رجل من قريش، وأنك من أهل السنة. ولي القضاء بالجزيرة وأعمالها، وهناك أيضا حدث، وولي أيضا القضاء بمدينة حلب وبقي بها سنين كثيرة. قال الخطيب: توفي بالجزيرة بعد سنة أربعين ومائتين (٢).
