    ٨٥٢ - كعب بن مَاتع، وهو كعب الْأَحبار قال أبو نعيم، وابن مندةَ (١): أدرك عهدَ النَّبِيّ ﷺ ولم يره، وكان إسلامه في خلافة عمر، وكان يلومه على إبطاله عَن رسُول الله ﷺ. قال كعب: خرجت أريد النَّبِيّ ﷺ فأتيت ذا قرنات فسَألني فقلت: أُريد هذا النَّبِيّ، فقال: والله لئن كان نبيًّا إنه الآن لتحتَ التُّراب، فخرجت فإذا راكب فقلت الخبر فقال: مات رسولُ الله ﷺ. وفي كتاب "رواة الوطأ" لمحمد بن عبد الله بن عبد الرَّحِيم البرقي. أدرك النَّبِيّ ﷺ، ولم يثبت له عنه رواية, والله أعلم.
