٦٧٩ - عبد الرحمن بن مَلّ -ويقال: مَلي- أبو عُثمان النهدي قال أبو عُمر (١): لم ير النبي ﷺ , وسُئل: هل أدركتَ رسُولَ الله ﷺ؟ قال: نعم، أسلمت على عَهْده، وأدَّيت إليه ثلاث صَدقات، ولم ألقه، وغزوت على عَهد عمر. ويقال: إنه عاش في الجاهليَّة أزيَد من ستين سنةً وفي الإسلام مثل ذلك. وكان يقول: بلغتُ نحوًا من ثلاثين ومائة سنة. وقال أبو نعيم (٢): أسلم في عَهد النبي ﷺ ولم يَره وحج قبل بعْثَةِ النبي ﷺ في الجاهلية حجتين، وتوفي وهو ابن أربعين ومائة سَنة. وقال البغوي (٣): أدرك النبي ﷺ وكان جاهليًّا، ولم يسمع منه، وكان قدومه زمن عُمر.
