٦٦١٩ - • علقمة بن عبيد بن عبد بن قُتَية (٥) والي بلد أَمَوْ كذا في "المشتبه". والأموية: دولة يقال له ابن وأمية أيضًا في القرن الأول بالشام وفي الثالث بالأندلس (٦). الأمي: هو الذي لا يقرأ ولا يكتب، منسوب إلى أمة العرب وهي الأمة الخالية عن صناعة العلم والكتابة والقراءة، أو إلى الأم بمعنى أنه كما ولدته أمه، أو باعتبار أن الغالب في النساء عدم الكتابة والقراة، فاستعير لكل من لا يعرف الكتابة والقراءة.
