٤٨٧٩ - أبو القاسم محمود بن المبارك بن علي بن المبارك بن الحسن الواسطي، المعروف بالمجيد البغدادي الشافعي (٤)، المتوفى بهمدان في ذي القعدة سنة اثنتين وتسعين وخمسمائة، عن خمس وسبعين سنة. قرأ المذهب والخلاف على أبي بكر الأرموي والأصول والكلام على غيره، حتى صار من أجلاء الأئمة وصنَّف كتبًا كثيرة في الأصول والجدل وعلَّق عنه الناس تعاليق كثيرة وأقام بدمشق مدة وبشيراز مدة وبواسط مدة. ذكره السبكي.
