٤٨٣٠ - الشيخ الإمام شمس الدين محمد بن محمد البَهْنَسيّ الحنفي (١)، خطيب دمشق ومفتيها، المتوفى بها في جمادى الآخرة سنة سبع وثمانين وتسعمائة، عن إحدى وستين سنة. وكان فقيهاً فاضلاً، قرأ عليه نُور الدين البَاقَاني، وله "شرح على ملتقى الأبحر" وصل فيه إلى نحو ثلاثة كتبه بالتماس الباقاني ولم يكمله، حجَّ ورجع فمات. وكان قد أخذ عن جار الله بن فهد من الحديث والفقه وأخذ العربية عن الشمس بن طولون ولازم ابن سلطان كثيراً، وقرأ عليه البدر الغَزِّي، وله بعض تعليقات على "شرح الكنز" لشيخه ابن سلطان. ذكره تقي الدين.
