٤٧٥٩ - الإمام بدر الدين محمد بن يَعْقُوب بن إلياس الَحَموي الدمشقي، المعروف بابن النّحوية (٣)، المتوفى في صفر سنة ثمان عشرة وسبعمائة، عن تسع وخمسين سنة. أخذ بحماة عن الجمال بن واصل والنجم البارِزي، ثم تحول إلى دمشق وأخذ عنه النجم القحفازي وكان رأساً في العربية، كيّساً وقوراً، له يد طولى في الأدب، اختصر "المصباح" لابن مالك وسمّاه "ضوء المصباح" وشرحه وسمّاه "أسفار الصباح" وشرح "ألفية ابن معطٍ" وسمّاه "حرز الفوائد" وفيه الأوابد. ذكره الصفدي والسيوطي.
