٤٦١٣ - الشيخ الإمام القُدوة أبو منصور محمد بن محمد بن محمود الماتُريدي الحنفي (٣)، المتوفى بسمرقند سنة ثلاث وثلاثين وثلاثمائة. تفقه ببلده وتخرَّج بأبي نصر العياضي وكان من كبار العلماء، يقال له: إمام الهُدى، له "كتاب التوحيد" و"كتاب المقالات" و "كتاب رد تهذيب الجدل" للكعبي، "كتاب بيان وهم المعتزلة" و "كتاب تأويلات القرآن" و "كتاب رد وعيد الفُسَّاق" و "ورد الأسئلة الخمسة" للباهلي، و "ورد الإمامة" لبعض الرافضة و "الرد على أصول القرامطة" و"كتاب مأذن الشرائع" في أصول الفقه و "كتاب الجدل" في أصول الفقه. ذكره ابن طولون.
