٤١٠٣ - الشيخ أبو عبد الله محمد بن زياد ابن الأعرابي النحوي (٥)، المتوفى سنة ثلاث وثلاثينومائتين، عن ثلاث وثمانين [سنة]. قرأ على القاسم بن معن واتسع في العلم جداً وكان شيخاً جميل الأخلاق، نحوياً عالماً باللغة والشعر، كثير السماع من المفضل الضبِّي، راوية للأشعار وكان أحول أعرج. قال ثعلب: كان يحضر مجلسه زهاء مائة إنسان، كل يسأله ويقرأ عليه وهو يجيب من غير كتاب ولزمته بضع عشرة سنة ما رأيت بيده كتاباً قط وله من الكتب "النوادر"، و"الأنواء"، و"صفة البخل"، و"صفة الدِّرع"، و"مدح القبائل"، و"معاني الشعر"، و"تفسير الأمثال"، و"النبات"، و"نسب الخيل"، و"نوادر الزّبير"، و"النّبت والبقل". ذكره السيوطي.
