٤٠٧٩ - الشيخ المحقّق أبو عبد الله محمد بن خَفِيف بن عبد الله بن إسفكساد الضَّبِّي الشِّيرازي الشافعي (٣)، المتوفى سنة إحدى وسبعين وثلاثمائة عن [خمس وتسعين سنة]. شيخ المشايخ وذو القدم الراسخ، صحب رويماً وأبا العباس بن عطاء ولقي الحسين بن منصور. وهو من أعلم المشايخ بعلوم الظّاهر وله التمسك العظيم بالكتاب والسُّنًة، بلغ ما لم يبلغه أحد في العلم والجاه، وصنف كتبأ وعمّ نفعه وله أسفارٌ شرقاً وغرباً.
