    ٣٤٣٧ - عوض بن بالي الشهير بمناو، درس بمدارس وولي قضاء بروسة وإستانبول وقضاء العسكر بأناطولي وروم إيلي. قال تقي الدين: اشتغل وحصَّل واعتنى لكنه قليل الحفظ بطيء الفهم، ودعواه أكثر من علمه، ورأيته يكتب حاشية على بعض التفاسير أكثرها مسجع ولكنه سجع لا معنى لألفاظه ولا لفظ لمعناه يكتب ما يخطر بباله ويُحَسِّنَه له عقله ولو أخرجه إلى الناس وعرضه على عقول الرجال لكان أعجوبة من أعاجيب الزمان، ولأهل الروم عنه حكايات لطيفة بعضها مفتعل عليه. انتهى
