٢٩٧٤ - الإمام المفسر أبو الحسن علي بن أحمد بن محمد بن عتويَتَه علي الوَاحِدي النَّيسابوري الشافعي (٦)، المتوفى بها في جمادى الآخرة سنة ثمان وستين وأربعمائة.كان من أولاد بعض التجار وأصله من ساوة. اشتغل بالعربية على أبي الحسن العْذْري الضرير، وأخذ التفسير عن الثَّعْلَبي، وسمع أبا بكر الجبري ومحمد بن إبراهيم المُزَكِّي وجماعة. وكان أوحد عصره في التفسير والأدب، وصنّف "البسيط" و"الوسيط" و"الوجيز" في التفسير وكتاب "الدعوات" و [كتاب] "المغازي" و"أسباب النزول" و"شرح ديوان المتنبي" وغير ذلك.
