٢٣٥٥ - أبو العباس عبد الله بن محمد بن جعفر بن محمد بن هرون، الشهير بابن المعتز العبَّاسي (٤)، المتوفى في ربيع الآخر سنة ست وتسعين ومائتين، وله ثمان وأربعون سنة. أخذ الأدب والعربية عن المبرِّد وثعلمب، فمهر وصار أشعر بني العباس، بل أشعر الناس، في الأوصاف والتشبيهات. وكان من محاسن الزمان وهو أول من صنَّف في صنعة الشعر وصنع "كتاب البديع".
