٢١٩٦ - الإمام الحافظ أبو ذر عبد بن أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الله بن السِّمَاك [الهَرَوي] الأنصاري المالكي، شيخ الحرم (٢)، المتوفى بمكة سنة ست وثلاثين وأربعمائة وله [تسع وسبعون سنة]. جاور بمكة وصنَّف التصانيف. وسمع أبا إسحق المستملي والكشميهمني وابن حَمُّويه، وعنه الخطيب وابن عبد البّر. ٢١٩٧ - الإمام أبو محمد عبد بن حُمَيْد بن نصر الكَشِّي الحافظ (٣)، صاحب "المسند" (٤)، المتوفى سنة تسع وأربعين ومائتين. قال السمعاني: هو أبو محمد عبد الحميد، المعروف بعبد بن حُمَيد، إمام جليل القدر، ممن جمع وصنَّف. روى عنه البخاري ومسلم والترمذي وكانت إليه الرحلة من أقطار الأرض، وثّقَه ابن حِبَّان.
