١٤٦٥ - الشيخ أبو علي حُسين بن شعيب بن محمد السِّنْجي الشَّافعي (٣)، المتوفى بمرو سنة ثلاثين وأربعمائة عن ... وهو أول من جمع بين طريقتي العراق وخراسان. كتب بنيسابور وبغداد عن أصحاب المحاملي واجتمع بالشيخ أبي حامد الاسفرايني ببغداد وأخذ عنه وله "شرح المختصر" و"شرح تلخيص ابن القاضي" و"شرح فروع ابن الحداد" وهما من أَجلِّ الكتب و"شرح المختصر" هو الذي يسميه إمام الحرمين "المذهب الكبير". وكان السِّنْجي صاحب أبي بكر القَفَّال وأحب تلامذته وشيخ من قرئ [عليه العلم في] مرو. ذكره السبكي.
