١٢٢٧ - أبو عبد الله جعفر الصادق بن محمد الباقر بن علي زين العابدين بن الحسين (١)، أحد الأئمة الاثني عشر على مذهب الإمامية، المتوفى بالمدينة في شوال سنة ثمان وأربعين ومائة عن ثمان وستين سنة ودفن بالبقيع. كان من سادات أهل البيت، لقب بالصادق لصدقه في مقاله، وفضله أشهر من أن يذكر. وله كلام في صناعة الكيمياء والزجر والعيافة وكان تلميذه جابر بن حيان الطرسوسي، قد ألف كتاباً يشتمل على ألف ورقة يتضمن رسائل جعفر الصادق وهي خمسمائة رسالة. وأمُّه أم فروة بنت القاسم بن محمد بن أبي بكر الصديق ﵁ وقبره عند قبر محمد الباقر وجده علي الأصغر وعم جدِّه الحسن ﵃ أجمعين. ذكره ابن خلِّكان.
