١٢٢٤ - أبو الفضل جعفر بن الفضل بن جعفر بن محمد بن الفُرات، المعروف بابن حِنْزَابَة (٤)، المتوفى بمصر في ربيع الأول سنة إحدى وتسعين وثلاثمائة عن ثمان وثمانين سنة. كان وزير بني إخشيد بمصر مدة إمارة كافور. وكان عالماً محباً للعلماء وقصده الأفاضل كالدارقطني والمتنبي. وله تأليف في أسماء الرجال والأنساب. وحِنْزابَةُ: بكسر الحاء المهملة وسكون النون وفتح الزاي (٥) وبعد الألف باء موحدة مفتوحة وهي أم أبيه الفضل ومعناه المرأة القصيرة الغليظة. واشترى بالمدينة داراً بالقرب من المسجد ليدفن فيها ولما مات حمل تابوته من مصر ودفن هناك. ذكره ابن خلِّكان.
