١٢٠٨ - أبو محمد جعفر بن أحمد بن الحسين بن أحمد، المعروف بالسرَّاج (٢)، المتوفى في صفر سنة خمسمائة، عن اثنتين وثمانين سنة. قال ابن عساكر: كان عالياً في الحديث والقراءة والنحو واللغة والعروض. ولد ببغداد ودخل مكة ومصر والشام وعاد وسمع أبا علي بن شَاذَان وغيره. روى عنه السِّلفَي وخرَّج له الخطيب. فوائد جمَّة وله نظم "التنبيه" في الفقه و"نظم المناسك" و"مصارع العشاق" و"زهر السودان". ذكره السيوطي وقال ابن خلِّكان: كان حافظ عصره وعلاَّمة زمانه، صاحب التصانيف العجيبة.
