    ١١٨٦ - شيخ الصِّناعة وأُستاذ الجماعة أبو موسى جابر بن حَيَّان بن عبد الله الأَزْدي الكوفي مولداً الطُّوسي منشأً الصُّوفي (١)، المتوفى بطرسوس سنة ستين ومائة تقريباً. كان متقدماً في الطبيعيات، بارعاً في صنعة الكيمياء. وله فيها تآليف كثيرة. وله "رسالة عمل الاصطرلاب" تتضمن ألف مسألة وكان مشرفاً على كثير من علوم الفلسفة، متقلداً لعلم الباطن أي مذهب المتصوفين، من أهل الإسلام، له في الطبيعيات والطب والطلسمات والصنعة قريب إلى ستمائة كتاب، أخذ العلم من الإمام جعفر الصادق. ذكره ابن خلِّكان. وصاحب "نوادر الأخبار".
