    ١٠٤٥ - بَاقِل الإيادي (٢)، الذي يضرب به المثل في العِيّ -بكسر العين ضد البيان- فيقال: فلان أعيى من باقل. قيل كان رجلاً من إياد وقيل من بني مازن، اشترى ظبياً بأحد عشر، فسئل: بكم اشتريت، ففتح كَفَّيه وأخرج لسانه ليشير إلى ثمنه، فخرج الظبي من يده ولما عُيِّر بفعله أنشد أبياتاً مضمونها ألا إن العِي أجمل بالأحمق من النُّطْق.
