٩٤٧ - الشيخ الإمام أبو إبراهيم إسمعيل بن يحيى بن عمرو بن إسحق المُزَني المصري (٢)، المتوفى بها في رمضان سنة أربع وستين ومائتين، وله تسع وثمانون سنة. حدّث عن الشافعي وغيره واختصّ بصحبته وقام بنصرة مذهبه. روى عنه الطَّحَاوي وابن خُزيمة. وكان زاهداً مجتهداً غواصاً (١٠٣/ أ- ب) على المعاني الدقيقة وصنَّف "الجامع الكبير" و"الصغير" و"مختصر المختصر" و"المنثور" و"المسائل" و"الترغيب في العلم" وكتاب "الوثائق والعقارب" وكتاب في مذهبه ومختصره أصل الكتب للفقهاء بالشافعية. وكان من الزهد على طرف عظيم. ذكره السبكي.
