٩٢٥ - رشيد الدين أبو الفداء إسمعيل بن عثمان بن عبد الكريم بن تَمَّام بن محمد، المعروف بابن المعلم القرشي الحنفي الدمشقي (٢)، المتوفى بالقاهرة في رجب سنة أربع عشرة وسبعمائة، وله إحدى وتسعون سنة. كان شخ الحنفية في عصره، قرأ على السخاوي وسمع من ابن الصلاح وابن الزبيدي (٣)، وتفقه على الجمال محمود الحصيري، فأفتى ودرس وكان إمامًا فاضلًا أصوليًا مفسرًا محدثًا أديبًا حكيمًا لغويًا منطقيًا جدليًا مفرط الذكاء، إذا حضر في مكان كان هو المشار إليه والمعول في المشكلات عليه (٤). ذكره في "الكتائب".
