٩١٨ - الملك المعز إسمعيل بن سيف الإسلام طغتكين بن أيوب (٢)، صاحب اليمن، المقتول سنة ثمان وتسعين وخمسمائة بعد أن ملك بزبيد ست سنين. وولي بعده أخ له صبي اسمه الناصر أيوب. ملك بعد أبيه سنة اثنتين وتسعين وخمسمائة وقتل جمعًا من غلمان أبيه وكان مصرًّا على الخمر والظلم، بني المدرسة المعروفة بالميلين وهو أول من بني المدارس باليمن فإن له الأسبقية وكان المعز فاضلًا شاعرًا له ديوان شعر، ادعى الخلافة فقتله الأكراد على باب زبيد. ذكره ابن الدّيبع في "بغية المستفيد".
