٩١٠ - إسمعيل بن حَمَّاد بن أبي حنيفة نعمان بن ثابت الكُوفي (٢)، المتوفى سنة اثنتي عشرة ومائتين عن سن الشباب. تفقه على أبيه حَمّاد والحسن بن زياد ولم يدرك جدّه وسمع الحديث منه وروى عن خلق وحدَّث وولي قضاء الجانب الشرقي ببغداد وقضاء البصرة والرَّقَّة وكان فقيهًا صالحًا وكان يختلف إلى أبي يوسف يتفقّه عليه ثم صار بحال يزاحمه ولما عزل عن البصرة شيّعه أهلها وقالوا: جزاك الله خيرًا، عففت عن أموالنا ودمائنا، فقال إسمعيل: وعن أبنائكم -يعرِّض بيحيى بن أكثم القاضي- لأنه سلفه وهو متهم به. وصنَّف من الكتب "الجامع" في الفقه و"الردّ على القدرية".
