٨٩٧ - أبو البقاء إسمعيل بن أحمد بن سعيد بن محمد بن سعيد بن الأثير الحلبي الشافعي (٢)، الكاتب المعدوم في وقعة التتار سنة تسع وتسعين وستمائة. وكان أحد كتاب الدرج بالقاهرة ثم ترك تزهدًا وكان فاضلًا من بيت كتابة وفضل، وله خطب مدونة وهو الذي علق "شرح العمدة" عن ابن دقيق العيد، وله تاريخ سماه "عبرة أولي الأبصار في ملوك الأمصار" وشرح "قصيدة ابن عبدون". ذكره ابن الملقن وصاحب "المنهل".
