٨٩٥ - الشيخ الإمام أبو سعد إسمعيل بن أحمد بن إبراهيم بن إسمعيل بن عباس الإسمعيلي الفقيه الجرجاني الشافعي (٢)، المتوفى بها في شهر ربيع الآخر سنة ست وتسعين وثلاث مائة، عن ثلاث وستين سنة وهو في صلاة المغرب. تفقه على والده الإمام أبي بكر وروى عن ابن عدي وغيره وكان إمام عصره. صنف كتابًا في أصول الفقه وسماه "تهذيب النظر". جمع بين رئاسة الدين والدنيا كوالده. ذكره السبكي وغيره. وولده أبو العلاء السَّري (٣) كان عالم بلاده ومفتي جرجان، سمع ورحل ومات سنة ثلاثين وأربع مائة عن سبعين سنة.
