٨٨٤ - الشيخ الأديب الفاضل إسمعيل بن إبراهيم بن إسمعيل بن عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن العلوي الزبيدي (١)، شارح "جامع ابن هشام" المتوفى سنة .... قال الشهاب: هو صاحب التآليف الجليلة. ولد بزبيد وبيت شرفه بها مشيد وظهرت له اليد الطولى في جميع الفنون العقلية والنقلية، لا سيما ما أبدعة من دقايق العربية، فكم شفى أقوامًا مراضًا قلوبها، كما قال تلميذه الصدر في قصيدة مدحه بها: فإن يكن للنحو أصلًا فلا غرو فإسمعيل أصل العرب مع شرف النسب وعلو الحسب. ومن آثاره "التعريف والبيان في شرح لقطة العجلان" للزركشي.
