٨٣٩ - أبو يعقوب إسحق بن سليمان الإسرائيلي المصري، ثم القَيْرَواني الطبيب المشهور (١)، المتوفى في حدود سنة عشرين وثلاثمائة. كان عالمًا حاذقًا شاع ذكره بالإسرائيلي، سكن القيروان وخدم عبيد الله المهدي بالطب وعمر عمرًا طويلًا إلى مائة مجردًا عن الأهل والأولاد، وقال: لي أربعة كتب تحيي ذكري أكثر من الولد، وهي"كتاب الحميات"، "كتاب الأغذية والأدوية"، "كتاب البول"، "كتاب الأسطقصات". وله من الكتب أيضًا "مختصر كتاب البول"، "كتاب الحدود والرسوم"، "كتاب بستان الحكمة"، "كتاب المدخل إلى المنطق" و"المدخل إلى الطب"، "كتاب النبض"، "كتاب الترياق" وغير ذلك. كذا في "عيون الأنباء".
