٥٥٥ - الشيخ أبو العباس أحمد بن محمد بن أحمد الجُرْجَاني الشافعي (٣)، المتوفى بطريق البصرة سنة اثنتين وثمانين وأربعمائة. تفقه على الشيخ أبي إسحق ودرّس بالبصرة واستقضي بها. سمع أبا بكر بن شادان وأبا عبد الله الصُّوري والخطيب البغدادي والقاضي أبا الطيب والماوردي وأبا الحسن القزويني وجماعة. وله نظم مليح. صنَّف "كنايات الأدباء وإشارات البلغاء" جمع فيه محاسن النظم والنثر. قدم بغداد وحدث بها. روى عنه أبو طاهر الكرخي. وله في الفقه "الشافي" أربع مجلدات و"التحرير" و"البلغة" و"المغاياة" وغير ذلك. وله شعر كثير في مدح الشيخ أبي إسحق وغيره (٤). ذكره السبكي.
