٥٤٣ - القاضي تاج الدين أحمد بن محمد بن أحمد بن عمر بن محمد بن ثابت الفَرْغَاني البغدادي الأصل الكوفي (٥)، المتوفى سنة أربع وثلاثين وثمانمائة عن ثلاث وثمانين سنة.كان فقيهاً بارعاً في العلوم. له "مختصر شرح البخاري" للكرماني ونظم أرجوزة في الحديث وشرحها وحدَّث بالمسند. امتحنه قرا يوسف وجاع أنفه ثم أخرجه من بغداد، فلما حضر إلى القاهرة أكرمه المؤيد شيخ، ثم توجه إلى دمشق واستوطنها إلى أن مات. ذكره صاحب "المنهل".
