٥١٦ - الشيخ الإمام الحافظ أبو العباس أحمد بن فرح بن أحمد اللخمي الإشبيلي الشافعي (٤)، نزيل دمشق، المتوفى بها في جمادى الآخرة سنة تسع وتسعين وستمائة، عن أربع وسبعين سنة. أسره العدو، ثم نجّاه الله واعتنى بالحديث وأتقن وحدَّث عن العزّ بن عبد السلام والكمال الضرير وابن عبد الدائم وابن أبي اليسر وعمر الكرماني وخلق. وعنه الذهبي وغيره وأقبل على تجريد المتون وفهمها فتقدم في ذلك. وكان له حلقة. أقرأ في جامع دمشق. صنّف "شرح الأربعين النووية" وله قصيدة في صفات الحديث عشرون بيتاً سمعها منه الدمياطي. وكان ذا ورع وعبادة وصدق. ذكره صاحب "المنهل".
