٢٧٢ - السلطان آتْسِزْ بن قطب الدين محمد خوارزم شاه الثاني (٢)، من هذه الدولة، المتوفى في جمادى الآخرة سنة إحدى وخمسين وخمسمائة، عن إحدى وستين سنة. تسلطن بعد أبيه وكان حسن السيرة، كافاً عن أموال رعيته، منصفاً لهم، محبوباً إليهم، أصابه فالج ومات منه وهو يقول: ﴿ما أغنى عني ماليه﴾ إلى آخر الآية (٣)، ثم ملك ابنه أرسلان شاه وكانت مدته خمسين سنة وله مع سنجر السلجوقي وقائع وحروب يطول ذكرها (٤).
