٣٦١ - أحمد بن محمد بن مفرج الأمويُّ، يعرف بابن الرومية. كان عارفًا بالعشب والنبات، ورحل إلى البلاد، ودخل حلب، وسمع الحديث بالأندلس وغيرها، وحج في رحلته، ولقي كثيرًا، له مختصر كتاب "الكامل" لأحمد بن عدي في رجال الحديث، وله كتاب "المُعْلِم بما زاده البخاري على كتاب مسلم"، مولده سنة ٥٦١، وتوفي سنة ٦٣٧. وسمع ببغداد من جماعة، وحدث بمصر أحاديث من حفظه، ويقال له الحَزمي: بفتح الحاء؛ نسبة إلى مذهب ابن حزم؛ لأنه كان ظاهريَّ المذهب، وكان زاهدًا صالحًا، وكان متعصبًا لابن حزم بعد أن تفقه في المذهب المالكي، وكان بصيرًا بالحديث ورجاله، كثير العناية، واختصر كتاب الدارقطني في "غريب حديث مالك"، رح.
