٢٩٦ - محمد بن عمر بنِ عبدِ المحمود، الحرانيُّ، الفقيهُ، الزاهد. ولد سنة ٦٣٧، وسمع بها من عيسى الحافظ، والشيخ مجد الدين بن تيمية، وبدمشق من ابن عبد الدائم، وعُني بسماع الحديث إلى آخر عمره. قال الذهبي: كان فقيهًا زاهدًا ناسكًا سلفيَّ الجملة، عارفًا بمذهب الإمام أحمد، حدَّث وسمع منه جماعة، منهم الذهبي. وسافر إلى مصر لزيارة الشيخ تقي الدين بن تيمية، فأسر، وبقي مدة في الأسر، ويقال: إن الفرنج لما رأوا ديانته وأمانته واجتهاده، اكرموه واحترموه، يقال: توفي سنة ٧١٨ - رحمه الله تعالى -.
