٢٨٦ - علي بن مسعود بن نفيس، الحلبيُّ، الصوفيُّ، المحدثُ، الحافظُ، الزاهدُ، نزيلُ دمشق. ولد سنة ٦٣٤. سمع بحلب من ابن رواحة، وجماعة بمصر؛ وقرأ كتبًا مطولة مرارًا وعُني بالحديث عناية تامة، وكانت قراءته مفسرة حسنة. وكان يجوع ويشتري الأجزاء، ويتعفف، ويقنع بكسرة، وكان فقيهًا على مذهب أحمد؛ سمع منه الذهبي وجماعة، توفي سنة ٧٠٤، وشيعه شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية، رح.
