٢٨٣ - علي بن محمد بنِ أحمدَ اليونيني، الفقيهُ، المحدثُ، الزاهدُ. ولد سنة ٦٢١ ارتحل بعد الأربعين إلى مصر لطلب العلم والحديث، فسمع بها، ولازم الحافظ عبد العظيم المنذري، وتخرج به، وعُني بالحديث، واستنسخ "صحيح البخاري"، واعتنى بأمره كثيرًا. قال الذهبي: قرأ بنفسه, وكتب بخطه, وأفتى ودرس، وعني باللغة. وقال البرزالي: يحفظ كثيرًا من الأحاديث بلفظها وبفهم معانيها، وكان فصيح العبارة، حسن الكلام، وكان له قبول من الناس، مُديمًا للمطالعة، كثيرَ المحاسن، منوَّرَ الشيبة، عظيمَ الهيبة. توفي سنة ٧٠١ ببعلبك، وصلِّي عليه يوم الجمعة بجامع دمشق صلاة الغائب، وكان موته شهادة في رمضان.
