٢٤١ - محمد بن أحمد بن صالح الجيلي ثم البغدادي. ولد سنة ٥٦٤. قرأ القرآن والحديث الكثير بنفسه، وكان طيب النغمة في قراءتهما، مواظبًا على قراءة الحديث، ويفيد الناس إلى آخر عمره. أثنى عليه ابن النجار، وقال: اصطحبنا مدة في طلب الحديث، فما رأيت منه إلا الخير،ووصفه ابن نقطة، والمنذري، وابن الساعي وصفًا حسنًا، وقالوا: هو من بيت العدالة والرواية، أجاز للمنذري، توفي سنة ٦٢٧.
