١٩٥ - دعوان بن علي بن حماد الجبي. ولد سنة ٤٦٣، تفقه وتأدب ودرَّس، وأقرأ القرآن، وحدث، وانتفع به الناس، قرأ عليه جماعة، وحدث عنه آخرون، منهم: ابن السمعاني، قال ابن الجوزي: كان خيرًا دينًا، ذا ستر وصيانة وعفاف، وطرائق محمودة على سبيل السلف الصالح. توفي سنة ٥٤٢، رآه بعضهم في المنام - وكان عليه ثياب بيض وعمامة بيضاء -، فقال له إيش لقيت؟ قال: عُرضت على الله خمسين مرة، وقال لي: إيش عملت؟ فقلت: أي رب! قرأت القرآن وأقرأته، فقال لي: أنا أتولاك.
