٣٩ - أَبو عبد الرحمن، عبدُ الله بنُ مسلمةَ بنِ قعنبٍ الحارثيُّ، المعروفُ بالقعنبي. كان من أهل المدينة، وأخذ العلم والحديث عن الإمام مالك، وهو من جلة أصحابه وفضلائهم وثقاتهم وخيارهم، وهو أحد رواة "الموطأ" عنه، فإن "الموطأ" رواه عن مالك جماعةٌ، وبين الروايات اختلافٌ، وأكملها رواية يحيى بن يحيى كما سيأتي. وكان يسمى: الراهب؛ لعبادته وفضله، قال الهيثم: كنا إذا أتينا عبدَ الله بنَ مسلمة، خرج إلينا كأنه مشرفٌ على جهنم - نعوذ بالله منها -، وكان يسكن البصرة.وتوفي يوم الجمعة من محرم سنة إحدى وعشرين ومائتين بالبصرة، وقال ابن بشكوال: بمكة.
