١٢٥١ - عبد اللَّه بن برى النحوى المقدسى. نزيل مصر تفرد بهذا الشأن، من تلامذته أبو موسى الجزولى عيسى صاحب القانون وتصدر بجامع مصر للإقراء والإفادة، وكان الخليفة لا يرسل كتابًا حتى يتصفحه ومع ذلك فكان ينتسب إلى تغفل في أمور الدنيا فكان يلبس الثياب الفاخرة، ويأخذ في كمه العنب والبيض والحطب وربما وجد منزله مغلقًا فرمى بالبيض من الطاق إلى داخل ويقطر ماء العنب على قدمه، فرفع رأسه إلى السماء ويقول: العجب أنها تمطر مع الصحو. وكان يتكلم ملحونا ولا يتكلف، ولد سنة تسع وتسعين وأربعمائة، ومات سنة اثنين وثمانين وخمسمائة، له تعليق على صحاح الجوهرى مفيد.
