١١٢٨ - معدان بن كثير أبو المجد البالسى. تفقه على الإمام أبى بكر الشاشى، وبرع وسمع من أبى نصر الدبيثى وغيره، مات تقريبًا سنة أربع وخمسمائة، وله شعر جيد ومنه في شيخه الشاشى: "في وجنتيه ومقلتيه وثغره ... وردُ يشوق ونرجس ومُدام البدر وجه والأقاحى مبسمٌ ... والدَّعص ردْف والقضيب قوام في سَيْف ناظره وصَعدةِ قده ... يتعلم الخطىّ والصَّمصام".
