١٦١ - محمد بن محمد بن عبد اللَّه بن محمد الهروى أبو منصور الأزدى المهلى ابن ولد المهلب ابن أبى صفر. وأحد أئمة أصحابنا الجامعين بين الفقه والحديث، وهو من أصحاب الشيخ أبى زيد المروزى، رحل وسمع من دعلج وغيره، ومات فجأة بهراة سنة عشر وأربعمائة. قال أبو عاصم: كان للمذهب سدَّادًا وعلى أهل البدع حسامًا وخرج من مجلسه عدة فقهاء، وكان بهراة قاضيا قريبًا مِن ثلاثين حى وللناس به تبع. قلت: وهو الذى أرسل إليه السلطان محمود بن سبكتكين بغلته الإسماعيلية ليركبها.
