٥٦ - محمد بن إسحاق بن خزيمة الحافظ.إمام الأئمة. تفقه على الربيع والمزنى. قال الحاكم: وفضائله عندى مجموعة في أوراق ومصنفاته تزيد على مائة وأربعين كتابًا سوى المسائل والمسائل أكثر من مائة جزء. ولد سنة ثلاث وعشرين ومائتين ومات سنة إحدى عشرة وثلثمائة، وقال الشيخ أبو إسحاق سنة اثنتى عشرة، وقال أبو عاصم عنه في معنى قوله ﷺ: "إن اللَّه خلق آدم على صورته". فيه سبب وهو أنه رأى رجلًا يضرب وجه رجل فقال: لا تضربه على وجهه فإنَّ اللَّه خلق آدم على صورته، وذكر الحاكم في تاريخ نيسابور أنّ على بن أحمد كان يفتى على مذهب ابن خزيمة.
