سعيد بن مسعدة الأخفش، أبو الحسن، مولى بني مجاشع بندارم (١). قرأ على سيبويه كتابه، وكان أسنّ منه. ذكره ابن إسحاق (٢) وقال: له من الكتب: كتاب الأوسط في النّحو، وكتاب تفسير معاني القرآن، وكتاب المقاييس: في النّحو، وكتاب الاشتقاق، وكتاب الأربعة، وكتاب العروض، وكتاب المسائل الكبير، وكتاب المسائل الصغير، وكتاب القوافي (٣)، وكتاب الملوك، وكتاب معاني الشّعر، وكتاب وقف التمام، وكتاب الأصوات، وكتاب صفات الغنم (٤).
