جعفر بن أحمد بن الحسين السّرّاج، أبو محمد القارئ البغداديّ (١). روى عن ابن شاذان وابن شاهين (٢)، وكان يؤمّ بالمسجد المعلق تجاه باب النّوبي. وقد خرّج له الخطيب فوائد في خمسة أجزاء. وله تصانيف، منها: كتاب مصارع العشّاق (٣)، وكتاب زهد السّودان (٤). وله أشعار كثيرة، وقد أنبأني شيخنا عبد العزيز بن دلف (٥) ومحمد بن المنّي (٦) وابن الخيّر (٧)،عن شهدة (١) الكاتبة عنه. وكانت وفاته في حادي عشر صفر من سنة خمس مائة عن إحدى وثمانين سنة.
