أحمد بن عبيد الله بن محمد بن عمّار، أبو العباس الكاتب (٢). ذكره الخطيب في تاريخه (٣) وقال: له من الكتب: كتاب مقاتل الطالبيّين، وكتاب صفّين، وكتاب الأنواء، وكتاب مثالب أبي نواس، وكتاب أخبار سليمان بن أبي شيخ، وكتاب الزّيادة في أخبار الوزراء لابن الجرّاح، وكتاب أخبار حجر بن عدي (٤)، وكتاب أخبار أبي نواس، وكتاب أخبار ابن الرّوميّ ومختار شعره، وكتاب المناقضات، وكتاب أخبار أبي العتاهية، وكتاب الرسالة في بني أميّة، وكتاب الرسالة في تفضيل بني هاشم ومواليهم (٥)، وكتاب الرسالة في المحدث والمحدث (٦)، وكتاب أخبار عبد الله بن معاوية الجعفري، وكتاب في أخبار معاوية (٧). ومات في سنة أربع عشرة وثلاث مائة.
